Washington, D.C. – Liz Fairchild, Executive Director of Business Forward, issued a statement in response to the the emergency temporary standard (ETS) issued by the Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA):

“The vaccination and testing emergency temporary standard released by the Department of Labor is not only necessary to protect the safety and wellbeing of American workers, it is critical for economic growth. In addition to the ETS, which covers two-thirds of all workers in the U.S., the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is offering compliance assistance to businesses of all sizes in the form of fact sheets and sample plans.

These efforts by the Department of Labor mean businesses can protect current and future employees and promote public health, while ensuring we can all truly build back better.”

ABOUT BUSINESS FORWARD

Business Forward helps local business leaders make the “business case” for climate action, affordable healthcare, immigration reform, diversity and inclusion, sensible tax laws, criminal justice reform, infrastructure investment, and other pro-growth reforms. These leaders brief policymakers, work with local media, publish op-eds, submit testimony, advocate online, and organize their communities. We also promote their recommendations through issue briefs, survey reports, training manuals, and podcasts. More than 650 mayors, governors, members of Congress, and senior Administration officials have participated in our briefings.
