Democracy & Elections
Small business owners worry that helping their employees register and vote is too “political.” But expectations have changed; eight out of ten workers want their employers to speak out. Voting isn’t politics, it’s civics.
Americans turned out in record numbers for the 2020 election despite challenges posed by the pandemic and barriers to voting, including restrictions to absentee ballots, voter purges, and ID laws. Business leaders know that democracy is good for business, which is why they stepped up to encourage participation by offering time off and free rides to the polls, recruiting employees to be poll workers, and speaking out against misinformation.
For our democracy to work, all eligible voters must have their voices heard. The business community is committed to helping the most vulnerable among us exercise their right to vote.
